Barnfield Sandbeds is an area of open land located off Horsebrook lane in Brewood, and owned by South Staffs Council. The Site is in the process of being returned to nature by 'The Friends of Barnfield Sandbeds and 'The South Staffordshire Council'. This project has been ongoing for about 7 years. A 10 year management plan is nearing completion to ensure the ongoing development of the site. Barnfield Sandbeds Boasts a network of well defined paths, a very active pond with a wide variety of pond life and associated wildlife. Many species of birds, trees and native wild flowers. There are regular events held on site like pond dipping, fungi forays, bird spotting walks, bird ringing and occasional astronomy nights meotor showers etc. We also hold regular working parties for litter picking, bulb and plug planting and woodland management.
