The Living Well with Dementia sessions welcome Carers and their loved ones - no need to book.

There is a well-planned programme offering a mixture of activities and speakers designed to promote health and well- being and offer support to those Caring for someone with a dementia type illness. These sessions are sustained by dedicated volunteers and experienced staff with visiting professionals from related organisations that support community living. These are friendly gatherings offering fun and laughter to reduce isolation and promote positivity.  A light buffet is available.

Lean on us – this is a group aimed at supporting working Carers who cannot attend day time support groups, it is a partnership venture between Katharine House Hospice and CASS. The group meet at

Katharine House Hospice on the First Thursday of the month from 7pm – 9pm, the venue is lovely and there are CASS staff on hand to answer questions/facilitate discussions/provide information and advice to support Carers looking after anyone with a long term condition – the focus is not end of life or cancer. It is a welcoming group that share a coffee and a chat often with speakers talking about Carer related topics and health and wellbeing issues.

We also run a befriending telephone service and could accommodate more Carers to help reduce their isolation and anxieties/depression sometimes associated with caring. For more information contact Jane on 07740 418643

CASS café

This lively group of Carers meet at the Hailing Dene Centre, Penkridge ST19 5DT last Monday on the month between 1030 am and 1pm for tea and coffee, with quizzes, discussions and socialising and bite sized information sessions. The cared for are welcome to accompany their Carers and is for all abilities.

We are a smaller team now but very active working over the 6 districts of southern Staffordshire promoting Carers issues at various forums, and using any opportunities to encourage others to recognise and support carers to care.
